Education
Arizona’s students must be able to compete in a global economy. They need the best teachers, technology, curriculum, and family support that we can create to help them succeed. Nancy dedicated 10 years of public service to the Amphitheater Unified School district and is proud of her record there. Arizona’s children deserve world class schools. Currently, Arizona ranks near the bottom among the 50 states in public school funding. Nancy will fight to restore our public schools. She will push for higher salaries for teachers and less government interference while still preserving critical accountability measures. Redundant regulation and reporting requirements that hamper our schools should be removed. Once we have re-built our schools to an adequate level of funding, we can and must add in essential programs such as art, music and foreign languages. Every child in Arizona should have access to a quality education. She supports libraries, literacy, and cultural programs to build on our individual and community assets. She supports state trust land reform to free up land that is needed for development and to preserve important parcels for conservation.
