Budget
Nancy understands that the budget is a reflection of our beliefs as a state and that we can and must do a better job. She will push to protect funding for education, for seniors, the disabled, and for the environment. Businesses want a strong educational system for their employees’ children and for their own work force. She will advocate for efficiencies and the reduction of waste, as well as carefully examined economic stimulus ideas, to help build a strong economy. She believes that the budget should be created in the Appropriations Committee and not behind closed doors, as it has been for several years.
Arizona’s high growth rate also brings a high level of responsibility. Almost half of all new residents are children. We must plan and provide for the schools, parks, and other infrastructure we need. Many of these new families will be far from their support structures and may need community resources to thrive. Wise prevention programs are a smart investment that will pay off in future years.
